FAQ’s

FAQ’s

Where do the additional blades go?

The additional blades are neatly stored inside the cap. When you remove the cap, you’ll find the first blade already in place in the lower housing. Beneath the cap, there’s a collar, open it, and you’ll find two extra blades securely stored inside. When switching blades, simply choose your preferred one and store the two additional blades back in the cap. Make sure the outer notches on the blades are facing the same direction and properly seated to reduce the blade thickness. If positioned correctly, the screw portion of the cap will screw on easily.

Where is the USB cable to charge?

The USB charging cable is cleverly stored in the base that holds the upper housing. Look at the bottom of the base – that's where we've tucked away your charging cable for safekeeping.

How do I actually change the cutting disk?

First, separate the battery and take the piston out. Then you can switch the disk by unscrewing the current one. When installing your new disk, make sure the fine disk goes in with the sharp side facing in. There are indicators to help you position it correctly so it lays flat – if it's not sitting flat, the screw won't work properly.

How do we know when it needs to be recharged?

There's a handy indicator light on top of the unit. Green means you're good to go, red means it's time to charge up.

Why do I need a second lower housing?

Multiple lower housings give you incredible flexibility! You can have cheese loaded in one for grating, then maybe chocolate or a different cheese in another – all ready to grate without any cleaning in between. Just swap and go!

How do I load the cheese or chocolate?

Separate the upper housing from the lower housing — note that the battery is stored inside the upper housing. Load the cheese or chocolate into the lower housing, then insert the spring piston. Using the palm of your hand, compress the piston until it’s level with the top of the lower housing, and rotate it clockwise to secure it. Next, use your fingers to turn the top of the piston slightly until you hear a click — this locks it in place and is essential for proper function. Finally, reattach the upper housing to the lower housing, and you’re ready to grate.

How do I clean the Grater Rain?

The best way is to put it in the dishwasher – with the exception of the battery unit. The bottom housing pieces are completely dishwasher-safe. Just take out the piston and place the cap and blades on the top shelf with your silverware. Make sure to remove everything from the housing first, then let your dishwasher do the work!
